Yung Bleu (real name Jeremy Biddle) recorded this love-drunk anthem for his Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions EP. Released on October 2, 2020, the record marked the Mobile, Alabama rapper's first music after departing Columbia Records and signing to Empire Distribution.
The melodic ballad finds Yung Bleu mulling over a former lover he still holds on to. They say time heals Don't go build no life without me 'cause you're mine still And I don't wanna go unless you make me Down on my knees hoping you take me Yung Bleu is unable to move on and doesn't want his ex to move on either.
NBA player DeMarcus Cousins is on friendly terms with Yung Bleu, and when he heard this track, he told the Alabama rapper he envisioned Drake on the song. Cousins contacted the OVO head honcho hoping he would jump on a remix. Three days later, Drake responded to Cousins asking him to send the record. Yung Bleu told Complex Drake turned the verse around in one day. "It only took a couple of hours," he said. "Everybody on my team was thinking that if he did do it, it was going to take at least like three or four months to get it. He sent it back the same day."
