The title track of the High Road album is a dynamic but sweary song about overcoming with weed. Using a rapid-fire flow, Kesha talks about taking the "High Road" to block out the haters. Guess that includes those telling her to wash her mouth out with soap.
Speaking to Apple Music, Kesha explained the song's double meaning. After releasing "Praying" in 2017, people expected her to act nobly towards her faultfinders. Instead, she takes the "high" road by sitting back and smoking weed. "I'm just going to get high and I'm going to laugh about this because it's so ridiculous," she said.
The trippy, psychedelic video follows Kesha as she travels through a multi-colored desert. Filmed like a homemade '90s VHS recording, the grainy footage shows the singer partying with a disparate collection of characters in the arid landscape.
