Alan Walker is an EDM producer and DJ who was born in Northampton, England and raised in Bergen, Norway.
The original version of this song was an instrumental titled "Fade," which was first released on YouTube in 2014, and got Walker a contract with the NoCopyrightSounds label.
After signing with Sony Music Sweden, Walker released the vocal version "Faded" with additional acoustic instruments on December 4, 2015. It features the voice of Norwegian singer-songwriter Iselin Solheim. The song was a hit throughout Europe, topping several charts including those in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
