The Barron Knights were a British comedy vocal group who specialised in short parodies of popular songs. They usually glued three songs into one "a" side single. Their first hit was "Call Up The Groups" a #3 UK hit in 1964. Songs parodied were "Needles And Pins" (The Searchers), "You Were Made For Me" (Freddie and the Dreamers) and "I Wanna Be Your Man" (The Rolling Stones).The song continued on the B side with "Diane" (The Bachelors), "Glad All Over" (Dave Clark Five) and "Twist and Shout" (The Beatles) all being parodied. They racked up a total of six top 20 hits during their career and even managed to have a single "The Golden Oldies Folks Home" banned.
