Haim consists of three sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim (pronounced like "lime") plus drummer Dash Hutton. The latter doesn't appear in press photos.
The sisters' father, Mordechai "Moti" Haim, is a drummer who played soccer for Maccabi Jaffa and Maccabi Los Angeles. Their Polish-descent mother, Donna, plays guitar and won a contest on The Gong Show in the 1970s covering a Bonnie Raitt song.
A $2,000 winning appearance on Let's Make a Deal funded Moti and Donna Haim's honeymoon to Hawaii. Este was born nine months later on March 14, 1986.
