Ethiopian Pop

Ethiopian Pop is a genre of popular music that originated in Ethiopia in the late 1960s. It is a fusion of traditional Ethiopian music with elements of jazz, funk, soul, and rock. The genre is characterized by its upbeat rhythms, catchy melodies, and often politically charged lyrics. Ethiopian Pop is often performed by large ensembles featuring multiple vocalists, electric guitars, keyboards, and traditional instruments such as the masenqo (a single-stringed bowed lute) and the krar (a five-stringed lyre).
