A little-known artist before this sports-nodding track's release, Dallas rapper/singer Post Malone was surprised when the cut took the Internet by storm. "When I wrote it, I didn't know that people [were] gonna f--k with it as much as I did," he said in a interview with DJ Skee. "I didn't plan on releasing it any time soon either, but it leaked somewhere and we just said f--k it and recorded it."
The song finds Malone asserting himself as one of the best in the game as he compares himself to various basketball legends, especially Allen Iverson, who played both the shooting guard and point guard positions for four different teams. Iverson was the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001 and an 11-time NBA All-Star.
