Sean Paul is featured on this track. Eve said on aceshowbiz.com: "That's my favorite song on the album. It's definitely upbeat like 'Tambourine.' It's reggae, the beat is Spanish, it's a nice collaboration of sound. Another summer joint. It's a club song. Working with Sean, I've known him for years, but for some reason we never got to do a song together. It looked like we weren't going to get to do this song either 'cause he's so busy, but we talk on the phone and email."
After releasing her third album in 2002, Eve took a break from music to focus on acting - she starring in her own sitcom, Eve, from 2003-2006. "Give It To You" was planned for her fourth album, Here I Am, scheduled for release in 2007, but she wasn't able to finish it so the song was issued as a standalone single. Here I Am was mothballed, and Eve's next album, Lip Lock, didn't appear until 2013.
This song reunites Eve with producer Swizz Beatz, who worked on her 1999 debut album, which went to #1 in America.
