This is the first single from Luke Bryan's fourth studio album. He debuted the song at the 2013 ACM Awards on April 7, 2013, an event which Bryan also co-hosted.
While the song may have "Party" in the title, it's not necessarily a huge party tune. "It's actually a love song," explained Bryan, " about a guy telling a girl that, 'Hey-no matter what I'm doing, anytime, I could be at a bar, I could be at a big show, and you can text me or call me, and I'm dropping my party and we're getting together.' I think it's a cool way to tell a girl, 'Hey, I'm diggin' ya.'"
Bryan described this to The Boot as being "almost like a mixture of 'Drunk On You' and [Lady Antebellum's] 'Need You Now' wrapped all into one."
