"Tusa" is Colombian slang for the heartache and loneliness a person feels after a lover breaks up with them. Here, Colombian reggaeton singer Karol G croons about getting really sad whenever she hears the song she and her ex used to listen to together.
Karol G started corresponding with Nicki Minaj on Instagram in the summer of 2019, swapping demos until they decided to collaborate on this one. The Columbian singer-songwriter recalled to Billboard that she sent the Queens rapper the music at 1 p.m. Within seven hours she had the song back with a verse, in which Minaj tells off an ex.
