Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Serpentine. By Songfacts®.

Lead singer David Draiman explained the haunting whispering on this track to Artist Direct: "It's meant to paint that demonic picture. You're talking about a succubus in the song—a manipulative, unscrupulous demonic woman who utilizes her sexuality to prey on the weaknesses of men. You've got to make it seem like there's something ethereal and frightening there."

This appears on Asylum, the band's fifth studio album. It was also their fourth consecutive album to debut at #1 in the US, a feat only matched by two other bands: Metallica and Dave Matthews Band.
