The song was penned by The-Dream, whose previous contributions for Beyoncé include her girl-power anthems "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and "Run The World (Girls)."

Beyoncé produced the track with the help of producer Shea Taylor, who has also crafted beats for the likes of Ne-Yo and Janet Jackson.
