According to Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood, the song is about a pair of teenage lovers; when she gets a terminal disease, they vow to love each other into the afterlife.
Kamelot blends orchestral elements with rock, and their lyrics tend to be on the dark side. This is a great example, as the song combines a beautiful melody with a storyline that deals with death.
