Sleeping With Sirens vocalist Kellin Quinn wrote this as he was feeling alienated. He explained to Kerrang!: "I wrote it because I felt like I was being kicked while I was down. I write songs from a very internal place. I don't look out for other people to help me write lyrics and stuff, you know? But I do also want people to take away something from a song. Whatever that is."
The band debuted the song live at Camden Underworld on August 21, 2014 in London. The music video for the song was shot on location during the Camden Underground set.
