This is the second single from Canadian alternative rock band Three Days Grace's third studio album, Life Starts Now. It was rated the #1 Alternative Song of 2009 on the AOL Radio Blog.
The song has been used as the backing for a number of programs covering sporting events. They include ESPN's Winter X Games XIV and the Professional Motocross Freestyle show Nuclear Cowboyz. It was also both the featured song for the 2010 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, and during the 2010 NFL Draft.
Frontman Adam Gontier explained the song's meaning: "The Good Life is a really simple song. It's a grass greener kinda thing. You look at somebody else's life and wanting what they have, which again brings you back to the ego - it doesn't matter how good your life looks from the outside, there's always things you want."
