Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about I Wanna Love You. By Songfacts®.

This song is actually called "I Wanna F--k You," but the "Love You" version is used on the music video and on the radio.

Snoop Dogg performs on this track, but originally, a lesser-known rapper named Plies was featured. Plies' version was replaced after he was arrested on July 2, 2006 in an incident where he was performing in Gainesville, Florida. Snoop Dogg and Akon had their management teams strike a deal where they would perform on each other's album, and Snoop lent the track a greater credibility that helped propel it to the top of the charts without a physical CD or video released to accompany the song.
