Dave recruited four uncredited guest rappers for this gospel-infused track. Frequent collaborator Fredo, up-and-coming Manchester MC Meekz Manny, rapper Giggs, and grime great Ghetts each spit an uninterrupted verse about making it out of their tough and deprived backgrounds.
Dave steps in for the fifth verse. He talks about being raised in difficult circumstances by his mom after his father was deported to Nigeria for not having the right visa.
The London rapper recorded the song for his We're All Alone in This Together album, which finds him reflecting on such topics as his family's turmoil, racism, and the abuse of women. Said Dave in an Instagram post: "We were born of the water. But tried in the fire. We're all alone in this together."
