The pair first started dating in 2012, and though they ended their relationship in spring 2021, the singer has said she has inspired much of his It'll All Make Sense In The End album. The record's lead single, "Medicine," for instance, is about the restorative powers of Jessica's love after he had an emergency operation to remove his gallbladder.
