Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Victorious. By Songfacts®.

Panic! frontman Brendon Urie was inspired to write this song because of his poor athletic skills. "I was never really great at sports. Never picked first for the team," he said. "But what I missed in that regard, I made up for in passion and intensity... That's truly victorious. Giving it your all when it's all you have. Giving 'em hell to get a taste of heaven."

Brendon Urie had a lot of help on this one; he wrote it with Alex Deleon, CJ Baran, Mike Viola, Morgan Kibby, Rivers Cuomo, and his producer, Jake Sinclair. Cuomo is the frontman for for Weezer. By the Death Of A Bachelor album, Panic! At The Disco was a Urie solo project, so he did a lot of outsourcing.

Directed by Brandon Dermer, the video shows Brendon Urie portraying a boxer who gets dumped by his girlfriend. However, a string of successful events reward his positive, post-breakup behavior. "It's the little victories that make us badass af," the band tweeted by way of explanation. The clip features a cameo from MMA and kickboxing competitor Joe Schilling.
