When the Heartache Is Over

Written by John Reid and Graham Stack, this survivor's song relates to Turner's life and the challenges she overcame.

"When The Heartache Is Over" was the lead single from Turner's last album, Twenty Four Seven. She was 59 at the time but still going strong; the subsequent tour was the top-grossing trek of 2000, pulling in $80 million. It was slated as her farewell tour, but Turner got the performing bug again and toured in 2008, this time grossing 132 million.

This song didn't make an impact in America, but did in Europe, where Turner had developed a huge following; she had moved to Switzerland by this time. It went to #10 in the UK and charted in several other European territories.
