Clinton Kane is a singer-songwriter from Perth, Australia, of Norwegian-Filipino ancestry. He first gained notoriety as a YouTuber, covering the songs of such pop artists as James Arthur, Harry Styles and The Weeknd, acquiring a sizable following of over 400,000 subscribers. After signing to Columbia Records, Kane provided vocals on Martin Garrix's single "Drown." The Filipino-Norwegian-Australian singer then released his own original single, "Chicken Tendies," which peaked at #88 on the Hot 100. He followed it up with this piano-led ballad.
The tender ballad finds Clinton Kane falling properly in love for the first time. He details being truly smitten with his love interest; he adores the way his girlfriend helps him when he's depressed, how she loves the things he hates about himself, and even her little quirks, like an inability to sit still.
Clinton Kane wrote this bare-bones ballad with his go-to producer Steve Rusch. The LA-based producer and engineer's other credits include Solange's A Seat at the Table (additional recording engineer) Miguel's Wildheart (engineer).
