This was part of the first five-song demo Kiss recorded at Electric Lady Studio (founded by Jimi Hendrix), with Eddie Kramer producing. Their guitarist Paul Stanley said of the song: "I wrote 'Firehouse' when I was in high school. At that point, I had been writing songs for about five years. Back then I couldn't afford to buy old British albums and I was really into that kind of music. There was a band called The Move who had a song called 'Fire Brigade.' So I stole it and rewrote it."
