Here, Drake raps about the disloyalty he's received from former colleagues during his rise. Getting no love from certain individuals has made him more self-reliant.

Jay-Z joins Drake for a guest verse in which he too airs a grievance, threatening to come after a particular former friend turned foe. According to Genius, the dude in question is his former hustling partner and bestie Dehaven Irby. Things went sour between them in 1998 because: 1. Irby claimed Hova abandoned him when he faced indictments for federal drug charges. 2. According to Jaz-Z, Dehaven turned snitch to reduce his sentence. On the American Gangster track "No Hook," he accuses DeHaven of "caving," adding: Made men ain't supposed to make statements End of the story, I followed the code, cracked the safe Dehaven denies providing information to the Federal Government to reduce his time in jail. 3. Jay has stated that in his drug-dealing days, he was shot at three times. Here, he says Dehaven knew one of the shooters and continued associating with him after the incident.

This is the seventh collaboration between the two giants of the rap game, following: Jay-Z's 2009 song "Off That." Drake's Thank Me Later track "Light Up."
