Did the Earth move for you? It did for Darren Hayes, and he doesn't care who knows. Running 5:10, "Insatiable" is most definitely not to be confused with any song of the same or similar name, and was released in January 2002, less than two months after the death of Mary Whitehouse at the age of 91, but if she'd lived long enough to hear this, it would probably have given her a heart attack. This is actually a beautiful song, sheer poetry in fact; Hayes builds his own church of desire, and jumps an octave effortlessly between the second and third verses, and whether he's jumping or flying, he leaves nothing to the imagination: "I grow stronger in your hands." Perhaps he should get together with Alison Moyet for a bit of "Love Resurrection."
