Bionic

This is the title track of American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera's fourth studio album. After marrying marketing executive Jordan Bratman in 2005, Aguilera gave birth to the couple's first son, Max, three years later. The pop princess told Billboard magazine that, rather than reflecting a desire to keep up with other music acts, Bionic is an expression of her femininity in all its forms: wife, mother, singer, actress. Said Aguilera: "Bionic to me is the definition of the superhuman abilities we as women have in everyday life." She added that the outré spirit of much of the music is a reaction to "feeling stifled" by the supposed exclusivity of any of those roles. "I've grown and changed, and I've learned so much. I've never felt more confident, more secure, more sexy in my life than I do now," she said.

Much of Bionic was written and recorded in Aguilera's home studio, which is located in the back garden, beyond the mini-lake and waterfall. Her house was previously owned by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and the residence was made famous in their reality TV show, The Osbournes. "I can just put on my flip-flops and sweatpants and go right back," she beamed to The Daily Telegraph May 7, 2010. "We call it the Red Lip Room."

Aguilera wrote this song with Kalenna Harper, John Hill, and Switch (David Taylor). Harper is one of the female members of Dirty Money, Switch is a UK-based songwriter and frequent M.I.A. collaborator, and John Hill is known for his work with Santigold.
