STP lead singer Scott Weiland wrote this song about Janina Castaneda, who he would later marry. It's a romantic song about being so engrossed in a person that you want to be with them in death - Weiland even wants to drink her bath water.
What Weiland called "The mish-mash state of the music business" was an influence on this track. He said in his autobiography, "Everyone seemed to be living or dying but making real money."
STP bass player Robert DeLeo and his brother, guitarist Dean DeLeo, wrote the music for this track. Robert cites it as one of his favorites.
