The first track on the first Blind Melon album, the band wrote this song during a jam session, as they often did at the time. In our interview with the band's guitarist Christopher Thorn, he said: "I remember when I stumbled onto the main riff. It had a cool country vibe and I was picturing a chicken bobbing its head in a barn the whole time. Smoking weed was a big part of our lives at this point, and I think we actually wrote a bunch of cool stuff through the process of jamming while stoned."
Shannon Hoon's lyrics on this track evoke freedom and cleansing, as he sings about jumping in the river and letting the water soak up his sins.
