Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about The Warmth. By Songfacts®.

"The Warmth" is about not getting caught up in the materialistic superficial machine that pushes us ahead everyday, never stopping or flinching. Not to get brought down by the careless and preoccupied with meaningless things that everybody is so tuned to. Feel the warmth before you die, find the meaningful things in life, and have relationships with the other lost humans out there who are dealing with the same problems. Life is short and it is so easy to get caught up with the B.S.

The song is from Make Yourself, the third Incubus album. The band members were still in their early 20s, having formed the group when they were about 15. The one new member for the album was Chris Kilmore, their DJ, who infused scratches and other elements into their music. It was a winning formula; the album took off as the band toured relentlessly to support it. The song "Drive" blew past all expectations to become a huge hit and put Incubus on the map not just to the festival crowd but also to their parents.
