This song is about being there for a loved one. Brandy explained to MTV News: "You can take it like you're talking about a mother and a daughter, a sister, brother, girlfriend, whatever - it's universal in that way."
After being mainly produced by Timbaland on her last album, Brandy returned to her long-term collaborator Rodney Jerkins on Human. This song was the first number that they did together after their musical reunification.
When this debuted in the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in August 2008 it became Brandy's first chart entry since "Who Is She 2 U" peaked at #43 in September 2004.
