This raw, acoustic track finds a vulnerable Alessia Cara looking to take the next step in a relationship. A little more of you Cara is admitting to her love interest that her feelings are controlled by him and that her day is going be dependent upon their interactions. She explained in a video interview: "That's how it is for a lot of people when you're in love, well at least for me, and it's a very scary thing because they can lift you up but then bring you down, whether it's intentionally or unintentionally, and that's a really scary thing, and I think it's scary to be able to say like hey, I'm really insecure and I'm scared that you're going to go away, and if you do, I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it. It's a very open thing to tell somebody."
Cara released the song on July 11, 2018, a date that happened to coincide with her 22nd birthday.
The acoustic ballad featuring stripped-down guitar was self-produced by Cara. She also created solo another The Pains of Growing track - "I Don't Want To."
