Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Somewhere Now. By Songfacts®.

The opening track of Revolution Radio, this Americana-affected folk song was one of the first tunes written for the album, alongside "Bang Bang."

In 2012 Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab for a prescription-pill addiction, after a very public meltdown. Lyrically, this song deals with his post-rehab struggles. How did a life on the wild side... ever get so dull? Armstrong reflected to Rolling Stone: "How do you deal with dealing with yourself? Before it was, I'll have a beer. Now, you have to sort of learn how to breathe a little bit more. I have never been good at boredom. I never know what to do when it's, like, you and you're alone with yourself."

Billie Joe Armstrong previously dealt with the topic of boredom on the Dookie single "Longview."
