Flora Cash are Shpresa Lleshaj from Stockholm, Sweden and Cole Randall from Minneapolis. The pair met in 2012 on SoundCloud when Lleshaj began commenting on the tracks Randall had posted and the two connected. They began making music together in Sweden and later got married.
This ballad from their debut album Nothing Lasts Forever (And It's Fine) brought Flora Cash to much wider attention after it was used in a viral Movistar commercial in Mexico promoting safety for young people meeting each other online. Its success earned the pair a deal with Sony imprint RCA.
"You're Somebody Else" was written in the Stockholm apartment of Lleshaj's sister, the Swedish actress Ariana Lleshaj. Ariana and her fiancé had gone on a trip to New York, and the Flora Cash pair were looking after her apartment.
