Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Inside Out (Radio Edit). By Songfacts®.

"Inside Out" is a defiant track where vocalist Ivan Moody recounts how his heavy drinking affected his relationships with those close to him, including his bandmates. After realizing he's the only one who can sort himself out, Moody checked himself into rehab. He has been sober since early 2018.

Speaking with Metal Hammer magazine, Moody explained the song's meaning: "It's about alcoholism. It's about my family leaving. It's about my bandmates. It's about looking at myself in the f---ing face and saying, 'Dude, you're going to have to do this because nobody else is coming.'"

"Inside Out" reached #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart, becoming Five Finger Death Punch's eighth song to top the tally. The previous seven were: "Coming Down," "Battle Born," "Lift Me Up," "Wash It All Away," "Sham Pain," "When The Seasons Change," and a cover of Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "Blue On Black."
