Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Innocence. By Songfacts®.

This song is about corrupt attorneys and the criminals they choose to defend. Guitarist Dan Donegan explained the inspiration for this track: "I was watching the news in the US about the corruption of attorneys and how they defend murderers and rapists even though they may know they are guilty. All they have to do is put the smallest bit of doubt in the jury's mind. How do they sleep at night? David agreed and came up with some cool lyrics for that one."

Frontman David Draiman gave his take on the song in an interview with Artist Direct: "It's certainly one of the more aggressive moments on the record. It basically calls out these corrupt and unscrupulous attorneys who will defend anyone for the right price and the whole infrastructure that exists around them. It's the irony, the ability to lie on a daily basis and sensationalize things for their own gain. I think it's despicable."

This is the penultimate track from the band's fifth studio album. It's followed by a hidden track, a cover of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
