Three Days Grace lead guitarist Barry Stock says the anti-suicide song was inspired by fans of the Canadian hard rockers: "It's about being positive support for someone who's on the outs. We experience that a lot in Three Days Grace. We've heard it throughout our whole career with our lyrics and stuff. Our lyrics save someone's life. A lot of people get to that edge, and it's just a lyric or something that keeps them on the positive. Our music has done a lot in the past. This song was no different. It's really that. I'm here with you. It's not the way to go. We can turn it around."
