Luke Combs penned the song with his go-to writing partner Ray Fulcher, along with Thomas Archer (Combs "Hurricane") and James McNair (Kane Brown's "Hometown").
When Luke Combs made his Saturday Night Live debut on February 1, 2020, he selected "Lovin' on You" for his first performance. The country star also sang "Beer Never Broke My Heart" on the comedy show.
