Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Place To Start. By Songfacts®.

This subdued electronic track is the opening number from Post Traumatic, the first new music released by any Linkin Park band member since the death of Chester Bennington. The Linkin Park singer took his own life at the age of 41, shortly before the band were about to embark on a North American tour. "The past six months have been a rollercoaster" Mike Shinoda shared. "Art has always been the place I go when I need to sort through the complexity and confusion of the road ahead. I don't know where this path goes, but I'm grateful I get to share it with you."

The song closes with some voicemails left on Shinoda's phone following Bennington's death. "I wanted to put this out as soon as possible because I'm living it," Shinoda said "And a lot of other people are living it, too."

All three of the songs on the EP received music videos. Speaking on Twitter about the homemade nature of the clips, Shinoda said, "Grief is so personal, and I thought that a DIY autobiographical format made the most sense. So I shot and edited everything in these videos myself."
