Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Back To The Shack. By Songfacts®.

The lead single from Everything Will Be Alright in the End, the band unveiled this on their second annual Weezer Cruise in February 2014. The song finds Rivers Cuomo reflecting on the group's favored '90s history as he sings of "rocking out like it's '94," (the year of their breakthrough Blue Album).

Cuomo also talks of each band member going back to what they do best: "Maybe I should play the lead guitar and Pat should play the drums," he sings. Drummer Patrick Wilson has dabbled with vocals on a few occasions such as "Automatic" from The R.E.D. Album, which he both wrote and sung.

Cuomo goes on to take a poke at reality TV shows like American Idol and The Voice: "Let's turn up the radio, turn off those stupid singing shows." Such shows rose to popularity after Weezer's 1990s peak.
