Running 12:02, this prog rocker was written by Porcupine Tree lead singer Steven Wilson, who based it on a film script he worked on with his friend Mike Bennion. The song was written for the soundtrack, but when they put the film on hold (no financing), Wilson included the song on the Porcupine Tree album Deadwing.
"I would describe it as a surrealist ghost story," Steven Wilson said of this track in his Songfacts interview. "It was about this idea of arriving at a point in your life that you never attended to arrive at, and I suppose having some perspective about that."
