This was the first collaboration between the pair for 16 years. The twosome previously worked together when Timberlake featured on the Neptunes' remix of Keys' "How Come You Don't Call Me" in 2002.

The song was co-penned by Chris Stapleton. The country artist co-wrote two other tracks on Man of the Woods: "Say Something" and "The Hard Stuff." He also appears in the guitar lines of another song, "Filthy."
