Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about I Really Like You. By Songfacts®.

The first single from Carly Rae Jepsen's third studio album, the Canadian penned the song with producer Peter Svensson. Former Cardigans guitarist Peter Svensson's other credits include Avril Lavigne's "Rock N Roll," Emblem3's "Chloe (You're The One I Want)" and One Direction's "Rock Me." Jepsen's manager, Scooter Braun, revealed to Billboard magazine: "I told her that she couldn't come out with anything unless it was on the level of 'Call Me Maybe.' And, now we have a new one that is on that level."

Like "Call Me Maybe," this song finds Jepsen flirting with a boy, but this time they are already together. Said the Canadian singer. "Lyrically, it's about that time in a relationship when it's too soon to say 'I love you,' but you're well past, 'I like you' and you're at the 'I really, really like you' stage."

Jepsen performed the song for the first time during the March 2, 2015 edition of Good Morning America.
