This was the very first song that Ella Mai recorded for her self-titled debut album other than her breakthrough single "Boo'd Up."
Mai told Billboard the song is about how "people are just complacent and know that time runs out." She added that it is one of her favorite tracks on the album as she loves the attitude she has on it.
