Hardy's gal warned him not to show up at home if he hit the bar, but he went ahead and ignored that advice, getting himself good 'n liquored up. He ended up knocking on their door come 2 a.m., but she turned him away, ice-cold. In the second verse, he uses an empty bag of corn to rest his head and a camo jacket for a makeshift blankie. Hardy passes out like a corpse, not a care in the world.
