Louis Tomlinson's mum, Johannah Deakin, passed away at the age of 43 on December 7, 2016, following a battle with leukemia. The song was released on March 7, 2019 as Tomlinson's first single under his new deal with Arista in the US. He signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco in the UK in 2017.
Tomlinson's 2016 collaboration with Steve Aoki, "Just Hold On ," was written about his mum's courageous battle with the disease.
