"Hold My Girl" is a sweetly sentimental ballad in which George Ezra encourages his girl to open up to him about her troubles. Crowded town or silent bed Pick a place to rest your head Give me a minute to hold my girl Ezra wrote the song with his regular collaborator Joel Pott, who is the frontman of the English band Athlete. Pott has also worked with a number of other British acts including London Grammar and Gabrielle Aplin.
The song's gripping music video finds George Ezra in deep waters as his bedroom gets flooded. The clip was directed by Dave Bullivant, aka Bison, whose other credits include the visuals for Birdy's "Words" and London Grammar's "Rooting For You."
