Nina Nesbitt explained the song's meaning to The Sun: "It's about not feeling very confident after various knockbacks, then meeting this person and them challenging my perception of myself," she said. "It's a love song with a twist, about those first few weeks that almost feel electric, when you could be in the most ordinary place, but it feels like the most exciting, magical thing."
Nina Nesbitt penned this song during her first-ever writing trip to Nashville. The inspiration was getting back with her ex-boyfriend, Lower Than Atlantis frontman Mike Duce. Nesbitt explained to Billboard that after they got back together, she realized how a relationship should be. "It felt very natural and effortless and I didn't feel that horrible anxiety you get when you don't know if someone likes you back," she said. "It was easy and good for me."
