Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Confetti (feat. Saweetie). By Songfacts®.

Confetti are small pieces of colored paper that are thrown at celebrations, especially parades and weddings. Modern paper confetti traces back to symbolic rituals of throwing corn (and later, sweets or rice) during special occasions. Confetti is the plural of Italian confetto, referring to the little sweets, or imitations of them, thrown at carnivals in Italy. Here, Little Mix flip the script on a breakup song by reveling in escaping a bad relationship. They compare their celebrations of being free from the dude to confetti falling from the sky.

The country-pop quartet Gone West used a similar lyrical concept on their 2019 song also titled "Confetti."

The girls chose this as the title track of their sixth album. Little Mix' Perrie Edwards told Apple Music: "As soon as we had this song, we just knew this would be what the album would be called. It was fun, cool, and you could do so much with it."
