Marcus Mumford came up with this slow-churning rocker. Bassist Ted Dwayne told The Music.com: "That was something that Marcus had been playing around with for ages. He was really excited about this very melodic bassline and that was a really fun one to record."

Lyrically, this is about a deceptive and dangerous woman. Snakes have been associated with vindictiveness since Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Hence, a person with snake-like eyes can seen as untrustworthy.
