Billie Joe Armstrong takes issue with an unnamed person who has got on his nerves. "Shut your mouth cos you're talking to much and I don't give a damn anyway," he sings. "You always seem to be stepping in s--t and all you really do is complain."
Green Day released an unedited live performance of the song. Shot in black and white, it was taped during a November 17, 2011 gig in Austin, Texas.
On Record Store Day 2014 (April 19th), Green Day released a special compilation of demos from the Uno/Dos/Tre! sessions, including several unreleased tracks. A demo for "Let Yourself Go" is on there, featuring what sounds like a basic recording in a rehearsal space. During the final pre-chorus, instead of singing "Always f--k, f--king with my head, now," he sings "wanna live like common people" in an apparent reference to the huge 1995 hit "Common People" by Pulp.
