Released as the first single from The Black on May 26, 2015, "I Won't Give In" marked the first Asking Alexandria song featuring new frontman Denis Stoff after the departure of former vocalist Danny Worsnop. The Ukrainian musician is an ex-member of metalcore band Make Me Famous.
Danny Worsnop announced his departure from Asking Alexandria on January 22, 2015 to focus on rock music with his new group We Are Harlot. The lyrics of this song were written by primary songwriter Ben Bruce towards his former bandmate. Worsnop responded positively to the tune, saying, "Glad to hear s--t's still going strong."
